"Enhancing each person's natural beauty one face at a time"

Is Permanent Makeup really "Permanent":

When talking about Permanent Makeup we should refer to it as Semi-Permanent Makeup.  All technicians call it Permanent Makeup because we are implanting color into the reticular part of the dermal layer of skin and is considered "permanent" because it cannot be washed off. However, unlike traditional tattoos performed on the body permanent cosmetics professionals do not use traditional ink (dye).  Permanent Cosmetics pigment is more delicate and designed to work with the skin's undertones and to mimic hair.  Every person's skin is different in regarding pigment retention.  Factors which effect longevity of permanent makeup are: color selected, age, thickness of skin, scarring of skin, use of skin care products, injectables, laser treatments, medication and sun exposure.  You will need periodic refreshing of color, depending on how light the shade of implanted pigment, as well as factors mentioned above. Most people will get 1-2 years before needing a touch up and sometimes longer, again it all depends per person.  Check out my touch up fees under "Fee Schedule".  AVK clients will never pay full price if you keep up with the maintenance.

*Please note- if a technician tells you only need one visit to complete your procedure and you will not need a touch-up, then he/she is not being truthful.

Working with a Professional Makeup Artist

Many of you have not used a Professional makeup artist in the past.  What can you expect?  How much should you spend?  What if you don't like it?  Those are some common questions we face when we hire a professional.  Makeup Artist offer regular/traditional makeup as well as some offer AIRBRUSH, which is a special way of applying foundation with an airbrush machine.  Airbrush is a specialized art and therefore costs are higher.

Makeup artist are trained in helping their clients with face shape and colors, enhancing the positive and creating a long lasting wear for long day wear.  Makeup artist can enhance your look with special "tricks" of the trade and really can create drama you never thought possible.

Makeup artist normally charge for their services per face versus per hour like most vendors.  The typical cost for regular makeup is $60+ and airbrush is $75+.  Brides are always more than the bridal party.  Bridal makeup runs $90+ for regular makeup and $125-$250 for Airbrush typically.

Is Airbrush for you?  What if you don't like the finish?  Will it last?  Well, my answer to that is YES, if you like natural feeling thinner makeup texture and long wearing formulas. Airbrush will last 12+ hours without moving, fading or sliding off your face.  It really is amazing, you have to try it and see for yourself!  The colors are custom blend to exactly match your skin tone.  I also work with all skin tones so no matter your shade, I can find the perfect shade!

Trust your makeup artist and have a trail prior to any event, you will find that you can look great and have fun while doing it!

Do you know what Permanent Makeup is?

Permanent Makeup SAVES TIME!  Yes indeed ladies it does.  It provides freedom for daily makeup application of traditional makeup.  Especially Eyebrows and Eyeliner. How nice would it be to wake up and just look refreshed, awake, put together and enhanced?  NICE i tell you.  Not only is it time saving but any makeup artist will tell you that the correct eyebrow arch and eyeliner shape can take years off a woman's face! Gotta love that!

I know the word Permanent Makeup sounds scary, especially with those who have seen bad work walking around, which is so sad, however I guarantee you will not get that from me! I take pride in my work, I listen to my clients wants and I put them at ease with my confidence.  I will show you what your makeup will look like before we even get started.   Call me or fill out the contact form under the contact tab with any questions.
